Who We Are

Headlands Research Eastern MA is an adult outpatient neurology treatment clinic and research center. We specialize in the care of participants (and their families) with neurodegenerative diseases. We focus on memory and movement disorders. We are involved in numerous clinical trials in conjunction with various pharmaceutical, imaging and NIH sponsors.

Meet our Team

Kinan Hreib MD, PhD, MBA

Dr. Hreib obtained his MD, Ph.D. and M.B.A. From Boston University and was trained in medicine and Neurology at Boston University Medical Center and Boston City Hospital. His professional life as a neurologist began at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, where he was the director of Vascular Neurology for over twenty years, after which he became the chief of Neurology at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA before becoming the Chief Medical Officer for Baystate Health North. Dr. Hreib continued to see patients as a neurologist while the chief medical executive of Baystate Health North. Dr. Hreib joined Headlands at our Plymouth site in Jun of 2023 as a Sub-Investigator, eventually becoming our site's Principal Investigator.

Shelby

Shelby Donath, FNP-BC

Shelby is a nurse practitioner specializing in neurodegenerative diseases, with a strong background in both clinical care and research. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University, where she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training. Her professional journey began in oncology nursing, where she gained valuable experience caring for patients with complex medical needs. During her graduate studies, she further deepened her clinical and academic focus on neurological conditions, contributing to research efforts in this area. She is passionate about advancing care for individuals affected by neurodegenerative disorders through evidence-based practice, clinical research, and compassionate, patient-centered care.
